Chordates are animalia that contain vertebrae, most of the time. A vertebrate is the animalia's back bone.
Body Symmetry
Chordates are bilateral animalia.
Digestion Methods
Chordates digest their food with the "tube-within-a-tube" digestive process. It is extracellular digestion.
4 Characteristics
To be considered as a chordate, you need these four characteristics:
1.Dorsal 2.Hollow nerve cord 3.Notochord- long supporting rod that runs through the body just below the nerve cord 4.Pharyngeal pouches- are paired structures in the throat (pharnyx) region
Chordates are coelomates. Coelom fluid between different tissue layers.
HUMANS ARE CHORDATES....HUMANS CAN "-DATE" ONE ANOTHER.
...when you think of chordata characteristics, think of the characteristics of a human.
...we have vertebrates, like every other chordates and we are the only phylum with vertebrates.
The Phylum Chordata includes humans, tunicates (not a vertebrate), sea lancelets (not a vertebrate), hagfish, and all familiar vertebrate animals. (i.e.- fish, amphibians, mammals, reptiles and birds)

What separates Chordata from all the other phyla?
a.) vertebrate and legs
b.) brain and coelom
c.) vertebrate and coelom
d.) intracellular digestion and coelom
